The Midrand SPCA have for many years, tried to resolve the water concerns at their premises in Dale Road. Not only did the monthly cost of water usage exceed R 7,000 but the drainage system was in need of major repairs and upgrade. In May 2018, the Midrand SPCA approached our CEO, Marq Roberts, with a request to assist them with this project.
It was decided that the Fury Motor Group would champion the project and raise the relevant funds required to complete this project. The project would include:
The plan was for Fury Motor Group to meet with other Motor Dealerships in Midrand to contribute to the funding of the project. Lindsay Saker VW and Williams Hunt Opel accepted the challenge and joined the project by contributing to the funding required.
On 15 August 2018, a golf day was held to raise additional funds for the project. The golf day was a huge success with a full field of golfers participating and every hole sponsored. The Hound and Divot golf day raised R 130,000.
The Fury Motor Group contributed the remaining funds required to complete the R 360,000 project.
On 14 January 2019, the accounts were reconciled and the button to start the project was pushed and the machines started breaking ground.
The project was completed on 14 March 2019 and the water literally started to flow.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
